WELCOME TO INTERLIBRARY LOAN SERVICE (ILL)
at the Jean and Alexander Heard Library. Vanderbilt faculty, staff, and
currently enrolled students, and their spouses or domestic partners, can
use interlibrary loan to obtain loans or copies of items that the Vanderbilt
University Libraries do not own. If you are unsure whether ILL is the best way to get
what you need, or if you are having trouble finding information
on your topic, ask a Reference Librarian.
Faculty Delivery Service: Faculty can also use
the ILL system to request campus delivery of Vanderbilt Library materials.
Please take a moment to learn what services
we offer, and do not hesitate to
ask us for help at any point. More information is available on these topics:
You may log in to your personal, secure online
account for request forms. Also, many of
the databases and catalogs provided by the Library include an ILL
request feature--you may need to display the full item record before
you see the "ILL" or "Interlibrary Loan" option.
Please make a separate ILL request for each book title, journal article,
or other item that you want.
The ILL request forms provide space for you
to tell us what you need, plus any comments or information that
might help us understand or locate what you need. Accurate and complete
information speeds processing. You do not need to know which libraries
have an item, but please ask for reference help if you are missing
any critical bibliographic data. Please call, email, or drop by
if you have any questions or problems.
